Carrying capacity
The number of deer that the habitat can support without detrimental impacts to natural communities (e.g., forest regeneration, disease, parasite infestation) is termed biological carrying capacity. The number of deer that society (hunters and non-hunters combined) will tolerate is termed cultural carrying capacity.
