Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD)

A contagious neurological disease that causes small lesions in the brain of infected deer and elk.  Technically, it is a transmissible spongiform encephalopathy that is similar to mad cow disease.  CWD results in decreased body condition, abnormal behavior and ultimately death.  Currently, there is no cure for this disease.
